I've been asked to help a bloke out with his wiring problems.
Early S3 Li150 with 4 pole stator and battery
Has fitted a replacement loom, but is for a 6 pole system.
From the stator: Blue, Brown, Green
From the loom: Grey Red Purple Brown Green
I've advised that Green=ignition, Brown=lights, Red=battery, Purple=horn, Grey=brakeswitch
But he doesn't know how to connect the two up at the rectifier. There are no colour coded marks at the connectors.
The rectifier is obviously missing its fuse.
The question is, how should the rectifier be wired up?

Some of the early series 3's did seem to have the old solenium rectifiers fitted, but I cant find any of my old notes on these... I have wired a few in the past but cant from memory remember the colour coding....If I find my old hand scribbled notes I will post back...
Back row - blue, brown, green, purple.
Front row - grey, brown, green, red.
I'm at work at the moment so haven't got access to any diagrams, if you still need help I'll look tomorrow.

Thanks for the help, if you've got a picture of that diagram I could send on to the bloke that would be great.
Cheers,
Alan

I've never seen a drawing for a battery, 4 pole series 3 but a late series 2 will be the same.
If the stator and rectifier came from the same machine there shouldn't be a problem, but stators that have the blue wire sheathed (unused) use a rectifier with a slightly different layout to the ones that do use it.
