brake pedal

There seems to be a lot of play in my brake pedal on the part thats attached to the pivot , can someone tell me what should be holding it onto the pivot ? .

is the plastic bush worn/ missing?

Looks like the bush is missing ! all thats holding the pedal on the pivot just now is a circlip ! should there be a washer behind this ? theres no hole for a split pin on the pivot.

Should be a big washer behind the pedal, pedal with bush, big spring over the lot, smaller washer, circlip.
Many people drill and tap the pivot so they can use a bolt to hold the small washer instead of a circlip.

The split pin attaches the doohickey that clamps the cable, to the pedal itself.
