grinding noise from front hub.

As the title says. only happens when banking for tight bends.
as im running in and taking it slow it happened once and stripped front hub but seemed fine. happened again today. stripped and only thing i can see is back plate sticks out about 5mm where as flush on my gp (disc).

any thoughts ???

Should be the same on the drum hub, needs to come to bits and put back together again ..properly...

I wouldn't be riding that again till you've fixed it.

Yeah im missing something somewhere. The back plate wont go any further. :|

No. checked loads of drum lambrettas at todays rideout. all stick out whereas original disc ones sit flush.
im wondering if its the brake shoes maybe too wide. ??

Someone mentioned the dampers but cant see how they would cause it .

My back plate sticks out the same as yours so dont think that is wrong. If the noise only happens turning one way i'd be looking at the bearings, or fork link buffers. Unless the speedo drive is having some kind of issue but i guess that would give the noise all the time

Yeah i looked at quite a few and all were the same.

Everything is new and top quality parts .

have to get a mate to give it the once over.

found out what the noise is :D

same tight right hand turn :)

its the ally stand foot catching the tarmac :roll: :oops: :oops: :mrgreen:

yeah lol. the stand isnt sitting right up and the sound can be difficult to pinpoint with helmet on. thats my excuse anyway :D

Just glad you got it sorted, hope that was before stripping down the hub though?
