Hi all! Can I ask the forum why the 22mill phbl carb isn't used widely?

In the Lambretta forum mode:

1) As the body is the same size as the 24mm and 25mm versions, so foir the outlay on carb manifold rubber, clips, cables jets and needles to dial in, there is less 'improvement in performance' ie it is the same size as a standard fitment Lambretta carb, with less expense and less hassle.

2) Supplyand Demand - They do not seem to be as readily available or as well promoted or documented as the larger PHBLs. (Also true for other 'modes')

In Vespa mode:

1) Have used one as part of a Vespa Smallframe 135cc induction, as one was available at the right price and suited to complement the up-grade.

In General mode:

1) Nothing wrong with them mind

Hmm it's just that I'm stalking one on eBay and you never here them talked about,I'm not a fan of big carbs and I thought this might be a good compromise, the other thing is someone told me that they will fit on a standard 22 manifold or is that bolo?-

is it rubber mounted then ?
the only 22PHBL carbs I have seen are solid mount
then we had issues finding a manifold that would put the carb in the right place to use the oe airbox, not helped by having the scoop on the cylinder cowling.
I think they could be a good alternative to a worn out dellorto, or less than precision-made jetex, but the manifold could be the issue...
Jet200 supply inlets ~ http://jet200.com/catalog/product_info. ... ts_id=1407
but with postage and maybe some import duty it's a fair whack to try a carb out.
will probably end up getting two manifolds cut and shut...
