vapor wiring

i have the two wire connections for the vapor speedo,one is for the power and the other for the tach.both wires are red and black joined together.does one wire set up go to the live brown in the headset,and does the other go to the ht wire to be wrapped round the sparkplug,with one of the wires to be an earth.

Red and black are the power black is an earth, the single red is for the tachometer
