Should I re-use this hub.. or trash it?

O.K. Lambretta nerds... Here is a scratch / crack / road damage thing / that is concerning me with my back hub. It is not deep enough to measure, but still concerns me.

The red nozzle points to it

It does not go all the way through to the back, as pointed out to it's relevant spline in the rear shot.

At this point I'm 75% thinking it's a scratch / defect in the chrome and is still useable. What do you all think? Keep it on the scoot, or bin it for my brand new SIL hub?

Lemme know your thoughts and opinions.

A crack does not have to be all the way through (yet). It won't heal. It will get worse.
Having had one break up, fortunately for me on a roundabout. I'd cut it - now.

To see if it is a crack. Spray with wd40 or similar, wipe off. Sprinkle with talc, any spray which soaked into the crack will seep out and stain the talc. There are much better proper kits, with florescent spray and a Woods lamp. ££.

If it were mine I'd probably out it purely for piece of mind.
You never know it might be OK but do you really want to be thinking about it when your out enjoying yourself.
