I was wondering what the best & worst mpg that scooterist's have out of there respective engine units? Please give a breif spec' of the motor; Cyl kit, Carb & Exhaust used.
IE; Whilst in & around town? Going to rallies or touring? Having a thash down the motorway or A roads?
Be honest & as to the mpg as you have worked out previously!
For example with the following type motors:- TS1 225, Monza 225, RB225, RB250, Stage 4 200, 225, Rapido 225, RB200, GT185, Stock motors also 175, 200 & 225 etc

It will help decide something myself & sticky thought of doing a while back; starting at South Mimms services & seeing how far you would get around the M25 on a gallon or 5 litres of fuel?

It will give an indication then to prospective kit buyers as to their running costs overall for say 10,000 miles a year.

I don't do 10000 miles a year in car Ian yet alone on a scooter!
Did you have to do that?

GT186 - out of the box. 30 mil carb and a posh clubman. About 120km to five litres.
That's commuting 30km each way to work. About 20km of flat out and 10km of filtering at 50/60ks.
On a long run, flat out, it doesn't do so many.

TS1 225 with a mild MB tune, Taffy exhaust, Mikuni tmx 35. Standard 12v set up with timing set at 19 degrees (I think) Used for long runs and some local rallies on A and B roads, sometimes motorway riding. 10 mile per litre, solo riding and 7 mile per litre 2 up.

TS1 225 with a mild MB tune, Franspeed race pipe, Mikuni tmx 35. Varitronic set up. 10 mile per litre solo riding on A and B roads sticking to local speed limits and about 7 or 8 mile per litre thrashing it on motorway etc.
