ts1 240 i`m using 17/46 with Italian li150 box = 4.60 30mm dellorto and a taffspeed expansion pipe not to sure of jetting but a bit on the rich side .....runs very well but i think it could probably go to an 18t sprocket = 4.34 ratio

just wondered what everyone else is running on their 240 ?
never squat down when wearing spurs !!

I was running 17/46 on my 240 Monza (30 TMX, JL3) but thought the same as you as it seemed to be revving out at the top end, I have recently gone to 18/46, the bike still pulls really well but now seems to hit a wall at about 70 (approx 10mph slower). I think this is more to do with the pipe characteristics than the gearing so would recommend 18/47 to start with if you've got the parts, as a good midway point, not tried it yet myself but could be a good compromise.
