Since i've been reading a lot of topics where people experience difficulties to set up correctly a tuned engine with different foam filter systems without cutting holes in the panel i've been wondering if a oil bath air filter would be effective under the panels.

Is this a crazy/stupid idea or could this make sense? Just asking because talking with a collegue about the set up problems on tuned engines and he told me about that system on his unimog and wondered why this isn't used on 2 stroke engines / lambretta?
