I just read on p106 in Scootering that came today that Harry Barlow has a new gear cluster available to make a SX150 gearbox more useable on a tuned motor using a GP200 4th gear. Has anyone used one to give any feedback and a price for it?

That's interesting news. How many of us have got SX150 gearboxes lying around we don't know what to do with? For the cost of a new tree it's probably better than buying a new gearbox. Somebody should ring him and ask the question.

Any engineering types got a view on mixing metal grades between tree and loose (old) gears?turbovan wrote:Harry Barlow New Pro Porting Xmas Tree Made from EN36 B .plus Has been cryogenic treated

Not a metal expert by any means but wouldnt the stronger grade metal chew the softer metal up ?? Weakest link and all that ?Avantone wrote:Any engineering types got a view on mixing metal grades between tree and loose (old) gears?turbovan wrote:Harry Barlow New Pro Porting Xmas Tree Made from EN36 B .plus Has been cryogenic treated

Is that used with SX150 1,2,3 and GP200 4th? If so, ratios looks good on paper, nice long 1st and a close 2,3 and 4.turbovan wrote:Harry Barlow New Pro Porting Xmas Tree Made from EN36 B .plus Has been cryogenic treated
