Sparkplug problems............

Yesterday, on the ride out to the Ace Cafe, my scoot died. Plug out and no spark. Now ive had this before so I did not even take the HT cap off to check the lead was sparking. I just changed the plug, 1st kick and it started.
This is the third new plug in about 150 miles. Each time the plug stopped sparking.
Any body have any ideas why this is happening? Feels like i'm changing plugs more than stopping for petrol!
Plugs were NGK 9 and not all from the same supplier so I dont think its a bad batch problem.
Put a champion in it on the way home and then caned it from the Ace all the way back to Southend without a problem.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Gav.

go for an 8 rated plug..9 is a very hot plug.if the plug gets "wet" it can spark too the eye but not in the barrel, ive had this myself.

Eibargum, Camel; thanks for the ideas. will give the nippon denso a go. Dont trust the NGKs any more! Dont fancy coming to a halt on the motorway on the way to Scarborough next week!

There was a post about this on the LCGB site a while back and quite a few people have had this problem with NGK's. I've had it happen 3 times now and have just bought a set of Nippons. One of the other people was having their scooter dyno'd at Taffspedd and it happened, Taffspeed refused to do any more dynoing unless he was willing to change to a different type of plug!

I'm wondering wether its an ignition problem now. Or am I starting to get paranoid! I seem to think this started after having the augusto fitted. Any body else experienced this after having augusto fitted?
