has anybody had a problem with pistons shrinking while running, in my case it was built with 4 thou clearance and after 500 miles it is 6.5 thou but the ring gap is still the same???????

Mentioning no names but I know the pistons meant for Racing and Touring shrink.
Pistons will wear for many many reasons even at 500 miles! Don't just blame the piston! Oh but that is the obvious thing because MB had them made! Would you like to send your engine in for evaluation?
i was just asking a question without mentioning any names, i wondered if this was a one off or a common thing. pretty sure it isnt wear as ring gap has not changed

it was checked by the reborers at rebore time then i believe by the man who tuned it then by my very experienced engine builder at first build then after a few problems we couldnt understand was checked again in front of me .
