Looking around for a reasonably priced GPS for my Lambretta.
Any gooduns?
Reasonably Priced GPS Recommendation
What are you wanting to do with it? Just a glorified speedo? Or proper turn by turn road directions? Something you can take walking with you as well?

Have a look at some of these. Can be velcroed to your head set.

Compact Toolbox Flywheel Holder
I use a Garmin edge 205 gps speedo which is handlebar mounted. it's not a sat nav but it remembers routes and allows you to re-trace the same routes. It's got loads of functions, altitude, angle of incline on hills etc. etc. The 305 version comes with a cadance sensor which could be set us as a rev counter if you had the sensor on flywheel the pick-up on the mag flange.

I use the Garmin Forerunner strapped around the headset with the velcro wriststrap. You can get a decent used one for around £50 on the auction websites.
@Matthew, How does yours mount to the headset?

It comes with a bicycle handlebar mounting. I've got ace bars on the series 1 so it clamps straight on to them.

Thanks Matt. Could it be adapted to fit SX handlebars?
Have you got a picture of the mounting kit?

I've bought a couple of Garmin street pilots off flea bay, and a street pilot 2610 as they are all waterproof and designed for motorcycles. you can get them for about £60-70. I'm using garmin GmobileXT software on my nokia N95 in the car and will be using it on the scoot when some designs a nice sports screen for the GP.
The GmobileXT cane be found anywhere on the net, if you know what I mean and not only gives you road maps, you get a nice little dashboard with it that records your max speed
