ATERNATIVES TO WELDING??

following on from that i suppose you could use two 60mm exhaust clamps and bolt the tray to that

A complete swing away from a battery tray but an alternative you could adapt to house a battery with a battery liner and securing strap of some kind..??

Ive got a battery in a cut down px battery tray which is bolted to the back of the toolbox works perfectly :-)

fit a glovebox and put it in there :)
heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

Don't waste your time with a battery tray. Just stick the battery to the back of the toolbox with Gripfill.
