Been for a play this afternoon after fitting new carb..All fine then went to turn off and it kept running..Simple poor earth ...checked all earths and there fine, checked ignition for loose wires but there fine. Now the strange bit....it wont start with the key turned to off but it will start in the on postion but wont turn off :flaming:...New one on me this
Anyone had the same problem ..New ignition by the way and not a cheap one

Have you checked the ignition switch with a multimeter?

Any wires broken, stretched? multi-meter may find a break if you do a continuity test? cheap on the web and worth a few quid for future electrical probs

I will have a word with my electricians at work in the morning...would it be the same as a tester for mains electric

I'm concerned that since fitting the new carb you are running too lean, therefore too hot and the fuel is self-igniting.
If i'm right and you keep running like it, you'll hole the piston or sieze.
Check the plug colour before running it again.

You may need to up the main jet rather than the atomiser.
