Hi, is there a way visually to tell the difference between a 125cc engine and a 200 without stripping it down ? the engine is in the scoot, it was bought as a LI with a gp200 engine , only part of the engine number is visible, i took it for a wee run and couldn't get much more than 50 out of it !! :|

Not really, but you can check the position of the inlet studs.... that´s the only difference from the outside.

or take the engine cowl off and look if there´s a mark on the head or you can measure the outside diameter of the barrel between the fins.

I can give you the measurements of an original SX200 barrel.

What do you mean by checking the position of the inlet studs ?

The distance between the inlet studs on 200cc barrels is bigger then the 125/150/175cc ones.

I can measure it for you if you want.

5 ribs instead of 3 ..though the inlet spacing is more conclusive
