Avanti Rallye 225 Touring Kit
During the winter months we have been developing a torque driven touring kit as that is what seems to be missing in a market with a number of excellent alloy kits, the majority of which are high revving, an area which is dear to my heart but there is little point in bringing out yet another similar kit.
The development will be brought to its conclusion on the 18th April 2010, although only in a cast iron form during “real world†testing, the results have been very encouraging. On the Dyno it was pulling 7,800 rpm in 4th gear and has since undergone some changes.
The set up so far has been run with:
-RMR 48mm Clubman exhaust
-39mm Dellorto VHSB
-4.44 gearing, LI150 gearbox with 18/47 sprockets
The next stage is to produce some preproduction barrels in alloy, the final design will not be released until these kits are running and further development has been completed.
Suffice to say the kit will be different to anything on the market to date, the design of which is being registered.

UPDATE 23rd November 2010
Our aim was to produce a cylinder kit that would address some of the issues caused by the use of unleaded fuels in a Lambretta namely the excessive heat which it seems to generate, the consequences of which have been well documented.
This has resulted in a revolutionary design, we are now committed to producing this kit, patterns for the castings have been ordered together with the pre-production kit. We are going to use Mitaka pistons which are a proven product especially in the Moto Cross world and you will be able to utilise your standard crankshaft.
The arrival date of these pistons will dictate the launch date of the kit, we have been advised that this will be at the beginning of March 2011 but this is now out of our control.
Further details of the kit will not be published until preproduction kits have been fully tested and a confirmed launch date has been set although we will be releasing some more performance figures prior to that date.
The reasons for this is that we are keeping the design under wraps for obvious reasons, what we can say is that the kit will now be made in England which will ensure tight quality control. Whilst we classify this as touring kit make no mistake it is by no means slow.
Testing: Road testing to date using a cast iron barrel on the following set up:
-48mm Avanti exhaust
-39mm VHBH Dellorto
-Li 150 gearbox with 47/18 sprockets giving 4.44:1
Speed 3rd gear GPS 71 mph.
Speed through the speed trap at the end of a standing start ¼ mile 81mph.
If you are thinking of buying a new kit in the near future please wait you will not be disappointed
