I am ebuilding my top en and have mounted the piston with the rings into the Cylinder and refitted the top and added all the nuts to the studs to lock things up.

After I finished it I remembered that while I was sliding the piston into the cylinder I didn't second check the rings positions to the pegs since it all slided onto the cylinder very easy.

Is it possible to slide the piston on the cylinder if the rings are misaligned? Should I remove it again to double check? (It's a bit fiddly wince the engine is still in the scoot and I'm lying on my back)

I am asking since I got a little nervous and hesitate to fire up the engine.

You'll be fine Kejj, there is no way you would get the rings into the bore if they were stradling a ring peg.
