Haven't taken a rim off a car in a while, although pretty sure the rim was centralised when doing up the nut, rather than the wheel sitting perfectly centered on the hub with nuts just holding it in place.
But... I'm certainly no expert and would be interested to know what one thinks.
a car wheels centre hole locates on the hub in the same way as this disc does on the hub

i got tyres(schwalbe weatherman 3.50-10) fitted on mine today at a local motorcyle centre and they marked the rims quite badly (they have fitted tyres on tubeless scootrs ones a few times for me before and never been a problem) said they were a real c***t and wouldn't do them again.
they were that pissed off about it they didn't want to charge me.
anyone know where i can get mat black touch up

I had the same problem in Belfast with 2 bike shops refusing to do my scootRS tubeless. Even when they were were done, they got marked and bent. This reason more than any other makes me more than reluctant to go tubeless again. I don't know why, but I thought the new tubeless were an easier fit for tubeless.

As we all know the Swalbe tyres are also a lot firmer on the walls so maybe something like S1's would go on easier? As for touch up buy as small aerosol ,spray into lid wait till starts to dry slightly then paint on or buy a tin of Humbrol model paint.

Might sound stupid, but would it help to warm the tyres somehow before fitting, to soften them slightly. Not Gas Mark 10 or anything like that
