Help Crankshaft problem

There should be some resistance from seal

Just thought I'd update this post, followed Seans advice & put it all back together & rolled with it! Few hundred miles done now & no probs with the seal (or anything else, touch wood) although I've probably put a kiss of death on it now!!

had 2 attempts at fittng new drive seals,start up scooter and stinking smell of engine oil in the exhaust fumes,wont even tick over.the mec crank has hardly any chamfer on it,if any at all.had a look at mbs cranks an there is a good size chamfer on it.looks like crank out again and put a chamfer on it myself.done quite a few drive seals and never had any problems before.seals and shoulder have all been oiled before fitting and use crank puller sleeve and been turning crank all the way when using ratchet to pull the crank in.3rd time lucky i hope :roll:
