Matt black is meant to radiate heat better than shiny ali. In a forced airflow like a lammy it probably won't make any difference, the paint may in-fact act as an insulator and you would make it worse!

id say the same , dont bother painting just make sure the ali is kept clean and you fit the correct head and flywheel cowling to get the best airflow to keep the engine cool.

cheers everyone for the info , think i will leave as is an do wot everyone else said an make sure everything is fitted correctly an all nice an tight, havent yet run this kit still gathering the bits for the engine will be built over the winter using a standard gp2 gearbox , jl3 , 30mil delly , with the kit the winter gives me a chance to have it all sorted for next season an the euro lammy rally here in ireland
