Darren here from the Lambretta club of South Australia,is it possible to remove the thick steel ring around the variatronic flywheel ,just wondered if anybody has done this.

no it is not, it is one complete peice, i had to replace mine with a indian one when the recess for the woodruf key split,, drilled all the rivets and it came out in one big lump,,, daz

charlie edmonds removed the weight band on one of mine when he welded the rivets,

Is this just a press fit, or could i cut through it to get it off

Charlie told me they can be removed as well. If your careful with a dremmel type cutting tool you shouldn't have any problems

is this the weight weare talking about around the out side

yes but when you work on it always check the balance of it !!
iow how higher the revs the better balance you need!!!

wot about the lighting coils can they be removed

The "a" in variatronic can be removed, then it'll be varitronic. :lol:

Bit like my mate that always says "M and B" for MB.
