By the way the festoon bulb is the sidelight bulb.

I only have version 1. Bought it years ago.
To be honest not been much help as its aimed at s3.
Yeah i thought festoon was sidelight.
Should the chrome reflector have a hole in it?
Mine does not. It will not allow light to pass through. So not sure how the side light will be visible. When the headsets all rebuilt.
Assuming thats its the correct lens that was fitted to the scooter 😯

Mine and all Italian series 1,and 2,the festoon bulb fits into the bulb holder and it has a gap were you can see the bulb through when its fitted in the reflector.

So tonight i finally managed to start this scooter.
Got it fired up and ticking over... felt and feel really happy and elated. 15 years and its now a runner. :D
However...
The rear light/ back brake.
The rear light is constantly on i cannot get it to go off.
Should the brake light...be brighter than the back light. The brightest filament in the bulb is constantly on. So i am thinking its wired the wrong way round.
The kill switch does not work...and the festoon bulb is constantly on.
So i am thinking i need to replace the light switch.
Can i put a key switch on an S2 in the kill switch hole.
Who/ where would you recommend buying the key switch and new light switch for a series 2.

Thank you
Robbie

Have you got the rear brake pedal fitted? If not, that's why the brake light is on permanently.
Don't rush into buying a switch and key-switch. Take a calm approach and check your work.
The cDi green should join with the kill-switch green in the connector. The kill-switch need a good clean connection to the scooter body (earth) via its little clamp.

Rear bulb is usually something like 15w/5w with the 15 being brake light.

Thanks again Daggs
I thought the brake light should be brighter.
The wires coming off the light unit are the wrong way round i think.. So i have changed them on the wiring loom.
I shall play around with the kill switch tonight. See if i can get that working.
I suspect my light switch is not correct ad its the original one. If i have no joy with it...i will buy a new one.
