Being thinking about getting another scooter, and see a lot of 186cc, or 195cc small block lambrettas for sale, I have had Ts1's for the last 20 years and was just wondering what the small block kits go like, good for touring at decent speed for 13stone lump riding it etc, reliable and good value for money? thanks

Put a Casa 185 kit on my LI150 S, a few months ago, and it has really transformed the scoot. Plenty of low down torque, and had it up to 59, but with a little bit left! I am a similar weight to you, and running a 22mm dellorto, and a 42mm AF Clubman. Bought kit off ebay on a 10% day, so got it for £400. Is it worth the expense? In my opinion, yes, primarily because I now feel confident when riding, that I have the necessary power to get me out any situation that might arise. Is it the fastest of the small bore kits, probably not, but 60 mph on 10" wheels, is plenty fast enough for me these days!

I'm over 15 stone and my GT186 kit is good for 60-65 touring fully loaded and plenty still left for over-taking if that helps? Run it with a 60 stroke crank, PHBH30 and Franspeed Race, gearing is Li150 16/46

If you like TS1 kits, the Imola is basically the same but for smallblocks. All depends what you want from it.

Jeepers I thought these small block kits were capable of a lot more than 60mph, A tuned 175 old school set up could get you to about 65 with a bit of tweaking, If you've been running a TS1 I reckon you'll be pretty disappointed. But keen to know how you get on. I rode with a guy a few weeks ago and he had a small block Mugello kit. He couldn't keep up with me on my old school 225 iron barrel scoot in either acceleration or top end. I weigh in at over 16 stone BTW. But he wasn't far behind and more than acceptable for modern road conditions. Like I say if you've had a TS1 I reckon you'll be disappointed and definitely no wheelies !!

Needle - X13 one clip from top plus a washer
Atomiser - AV268
Main - 135
Idle - 55
Choke - 70
Float needle - 300

I would not want to go any faster than my imola ultimate ....( 86 on GPS in favorable conditions )
I was bricking it TBH

If you're looking for out and out performance on the small block the RB 20 is a good bet.
