Could anyone tell me how easy is it to reregister a 200 as a 125, basically got a 200 frame and want to put a 125 engine in for my lad. Any help greatly appreciated.

Get a "reputable" garage to write a later saying it's a 125.....send the letter with the proper form (V5).....job done

Very rare you will get it back these days if just filling in 125 on v5 yourself. They usually write back stating they want confirmation of changes made by either dealer or mot station or similar

Any "reputable" engineer would only write a report for you if they were absolutely sure it was a 125 otherwise it could be classed as fraudulent. Insurance companies must be made aware of ANY changes to the CC of a vehicle otherwise they will void the insurance in the event of a claim.

So you’re saying if I’ve had a re bore I’m not insured..
also, not sure 125 Lambrettas are actually 125 . Aren’t they 123cc ?

I did exactly this a few years ago when re-registering a PX200 as a 125 after an engine swap. It helped that the garage had built and fitted the engine 8-)
