Frame numbers

I bought this Li 150 series 3 when I lived in Spain and brought it back when we moved to Devon (Torquay) last year. I was told that it was Italian but have tried without success to confirm this as none of the sites show numbers similar to mine. Both the frame and engine are stamped 150 Li 070849. I have the Spanish log book in my name and wondered if anyone on here could shed some light on my problem. I have started the restoration and will decide soon whether to see it through or sell it as I have to admit I'm knocking on a bit now. Thanks in advance, Matt.

What numbskull told you it was Italian? Forget about Italian and stop trying to confirm that it is. You're just getting yourself hung up unnecessarily. Besides which the numbers clearly put it in the range of Spanish LI S3. Proceed on that basis and it will be a doddle.

Thanks Doom Patrol. The guy I bought it from said it was Italian (he was an Italian living in Spain) and I wondered as I couldn't make head nor tail of the numbers. The log book has it registered as 1967 which is probably correct too. At least I now know. :-)

The matching frame and engine numbers are a give away too. That's something only the Spanish did. But yeah, I suppose your dealer must have got confused, or maybe he wasn't that into them. But it sounds like you did okay in the end.

If it was Italian the frame would have the Innocenti stamp in front of the numbers followed by 150 Li 070849 followed by IGM ++++0M.

The Spanish font is way different from the Italian and is an easy spot. The frame will also have an extra gusset holding the engine mount.
If you don't like/want it because it's Spanish? I'll take it off your hands ;)

I think the strengthening was only on the later models, wasn't it?
