Is there any problems getting a age related plate, the chap wants to sell the original plate just want to make sure there are no problems with dvla

Not sure how that would work. You'd probably have to re-register it somehow.

Ian- is actually on DVLA records? DVLA was set up early 1980's and a load of old numbers aren't on the 'new" records and aren't transferable anyway.
If it IS on DVLA and IS transferable, the seller will have to sort it out. IF its successful the vehicle will get a non transferable plate from DVLA automatically as mentioned above.
