When I'm using the scooter frequently I do what Storkfoot does, although I only use about 0.5 litre per tank of fresh fuel. If I'm not then I just use it as a parts cleaner.

My chainsaws and other 2t powered tools start to complain once the mix is more than a couple of months old.
The jets start to clog - "fortunately" that means generally bad starting and lack of power on a Stihl, not seizing.
