Polished casing

Is it best to lacquer a polished casing after its been polished up to prevent it going dull, if so how please

The trouble with polishing all of the case,once its in the scooter you cant get to all the case to keep it polished.If you lacquer the case once its been polished,the small stones and other road rubbish will get thrown onto the case and eventually it will take the lacquer off.

As Paul points out the act of polishing the case doesnt leave a "key" for the Lacquer to stick to. It will eventually chip and start peeling off

Once it's been polished though, it's a lot easier to wipe clean. Even once it's dulled off.
