I would suggest it will sell at a minimum of £5000.
It'd sell for that (as a minimum) today, judging by how prices are rising year on year, by 2018 when he plans to throw the towel in you could add a lot more to that figure, so it's almost an impossible question to answer unless you have a crystal ball :)

I understand it's all guess work and it's more for a bit interest rather than being too serious.

I agree it's strange to announce your quitting scooters at a set date (day and time.......Tuesday @ 2.30pm perhaps ?) and he should be encouraged to stick with it if he can.

Thinking outside the box......why not have a hundred tickets @ £100 a ticket and winner takes all ?......................adjust cost and numbers to suit........

I have seen lambretta SX's and TV's advertised for anywhere between 5 and 10k nowerdays.
So as has been said its impossible to predict what they will be worth.

I have been thinking for a few years the prices of lambrettas must drop. Yet the demand is still strong and the prices keep rising. Perhaps as we get older and die or are unable to ride due to ailments etc the prices will drop.
Whilst buying a few bits at af last week i was listening to the guys showing a gp to a man from wakefield. Apparently it was the only one they had left that wasnt sold. And if he didnt want it they had a waiting list for people who did.

Chris If you dont need the money whats the point of selling. You can get insured cheap enough and just ride occasionally.
Keep the scooter at least and sell the other bits and bobs. One its gone its gone. You may end up looking back with regrets if you sell.

I'm being swung to keep going to be honest-thanks for all your replies and encouragement. I just thought that 50 years was about right- mind you that was after a long chat with Mrs Bristolmod about how quickly time passes after a certain age (the copious amounts of wine last night didn't help at all as I had problems typing the original question.....). Heads slightly clearer today and I'm a bit more focused.

Feck it- lets give it a go. Ignore the question.

Now- where's me Sanatogen and the Viagra..............?

No wonder you have a thick head...

At that time I will be selling all of my scootering bits and bobs which will comprise a TV175 S3 (1962), a spare engine; numerous top ends; carbs; electricals; flywheels; gear boxes; internals; some body parts; booklets; original parts lists; original WSM's; tools etc etc etc.

It will not be split.

Whats it worth?- the whole lot.

Chris

Itemize it and someone will get you a real number as to value. Without it everyone would be guessing as to what it's all worth and you'll be wasting your (and everyone else's) time.
