12volt DC Mod charger

I have just bought one of these. It connects to the AC regulator via 2 wires and gives a 12 volt DC supply to the cigar lighter. It can be used for charging phones, sat navs etc. It's just any easy route rather than going full DC....for me anyway. I'm just about to fit it...wont take long...lol.

hahahahahaha....No :D I dont think it would work the cigar lighter if I had one...only enough power to charge phone or work sat nav/ ipad etc... 1 amp I think :!:

as fantastic as it is why not fit a 5 pin regulator or does this box stabelise the current in some way ?

A 5 pin reg will only give a half wave output so will not give a stable DC without a battery. The mod charger will simply use one similar to this http://www.futurlec.com/Linear/7812Tpr.shtml along with a bridge rectifier and a couple of caps.
