that thing looks cheaper can we make our own anyone know how to wire it

Should be able to build one much cheaper, a bridge rec (about £2) to first rectify the AC. Just Google the 7812 for smoothing cap values.
It may even be worth looking at 7805 regs to feed out straight to a usb connector.

Is there a potential problem in that at low revs it won't be generating 12v. A gps for instances, takes a bit of time to find and connect to the satellites, so at low revs it would switch off then re-start when it reaches 12v ....then switch off again at low revs.

I buggered my samsung galaxy using a gps app' on the Li and that was through a battery....some electrical appliances are a bit sensitive so be careful !!

Couldn't post a circuit diagram could you mate? It would be really interesting! You made it sound so simple ;)

See these at Scarbro' this weekend... I'd priced new new stator, cdi and reg for dc conversion... Think this is worth a try first at that price.... If it does as it says.. Charges phone/ runs satnav.. I'll be happy!!...

y not just use the bgm one straight swap for u org one , only bout 20 pounds

I'd priced up all the bgm parts.. Running Af's electic kit at min... Got price for bgm cdi , £20+ , but was under impression I'd need. Battery too???.....

no u can use the bgm without a battery it should hav enough power to run a phone,sat nav
