This is a barrell i had in to tune recently that had been steel relined and ports were all over so was left no choice but to go full on with a high end tune on it ,ports hadbeen cut below bdc and other issues which i felt would detract heavily from its final output
it was brought for dyno other week along with the avanti tune and ran up on the dyno with its supplied pipe a race item ex bsso use so expected it to rev some and it didnt dissapoint
results were good and decided to test the pipe on the shootout rb250 motor to find it was 2 bhp down on the franspeed and 3.5 ft lbs down too
so with a franspeed fitted i reckon 40bhp 25tq would be seen ?

60 110 (230cc)
35 mikuni
bsso pipe
rb triple port (linered)

Do you think the Franspeed would allow it to rev that high? I'd guess it'd maintain bhp at 37, but do it lower in the rev range, thus increasing torque....?

on the shootout motor it showed the same rpm range but lost power and torque compared to the franspeed

so i felt the rb230 with the franspeed would do the same make more power at 8500 9000 and more torque following the trend of the test on the other similarly timed motor

First class work by Darrell after the steel lining took a turn for the worse!!

I took this out over the weekend for its first road trial, awesome delivery of power with an elegantly lifting front wheel on demand  Customer is very pleased with results

When i first built this engine it had 25 hp on a standard RB225 kit until the crank twisted ( 2 years), looking forward to trying the Franspeed race on as i'm sure it will help power delivery on the bottom end and hopefully tip the 40 Hp mark after seeing the dyno results from the Rb250 sprinter motor with Bsso pipe on.
