Absolutely cracking result there Darrell.

Did you shorten the tuned length of the pipe to accomodate the over-rev to 9k?

That graph looks absolutely 'top-tastic'...the torque figure! :frog:

Darrell, do you think it would be realistic to do a 'similar' (de)tune, shifting the power delivery 1k down without sacrificing more than 5 BHP and 4ft.lbs. ?

Anyway: Gratulations!

ta.
no its a standard pipe, ive played with tuned length before but moves the rpm that it comes onto pipe up from the regular 5400 to near 6k which leaves the gearbox struggling
its also on straight line ignition
its 9k overrev is often seen on most motors but nosediving ,not holding on like this does

moving power down is fairly easily done torque would actually go up and power drop a few
but this motor sits in top at 30mph and pulls away clean as, pulling from 5000-5500 is about the usable limit of the 4 speed box so as long as you tune to that and gear appropriately you get a nice motor

What gearing are you running? Wouldn't 5500rpm be circa 50-55mph?

I read it twice before I got it I think he's saying when it's sitting at 30 it feels like another motor would a 5500 and pulls away as it would if doing 5500 revs but In reality it's pulling less than 3000 but moves away just as easily,
muppet,
C’est la vie
