I'm going to get my avanti scoot on the road after two years, only change I have made before it was moth balled was to increase the squish from 0.9 to 1.3. I could never get any color on the plug. I'm hoping the squish change will help? watch this space.

Sounds like it would put mine to shame too (not hard though as mine is 'off the shelf')!

Ooh, to have a look around the barrel and to see what DT and Sash have done to it...

It's been a while and the Avanti still runs fine. May take it apart one day but if it runs fine leave it alone is my motto.
Now going back to a 5 speed box from a close ratio 4 speed, the previous cyclone 5 speed was a joy but did not last, managed to get a new version cluster and cog that's heading into a gt186 90mph project.
I've not ridden it as much in later years due to its consumption but it does get a blast once in a while.
How are the other kits doing?
