What am I doing wrong

Anything related to paint & bodywork issues on scooters....

I think I just wet@ dried them and just wiped them with a clean rag . They are brand new ?

Could they have had oil on them ?, anti spatter spray from fabrication etc.

Did you degrease and panel wipe then before paint ?

If petrol has lifted the paint that easily it sounds like you had an adhesion problem to begin with.

Ha, yes its the adhesion thats the problem . the first time I just etch primered them and rattle canned them and left them on the shelf before the rebuild.
I could see that wasn't right so a took it off , wet and dried it to give some key and sprayed them with the compressor .
Still hasn`t taken though . I`ll try again.....its arse ache thats all .

I used tack cloth bit I`ll get some panel wipe as well.

Tack rag will only clean the dust off.I have some,I can drop it to you if you are local to me.Or some celly thinners,acetone,carb cleaner or brake cleaner.

Ill get some dave no probs....I used to be able to acquire it shall we say but not anymore :) ...there`s plenty of paintshop supplies places local.
