anyone try wall paper with a clear coat on top?

Anything related to paint & bodywork issues on scooters....

I found some wallpaper that is a large hounds tooth pattern in silver and black. I was wondering if I could glue this on leg shields and panels, then clear coat on top. Anyone ever try this? How long would it last? I guess a rock chipping the clear coat would let water in.

Or perhaps I could take the wall paper to a place that makes vinyl wraps and get them to copy it.

thoughts?

What about some tasty woodchip or anaglypta?

There's always super fresco by Graham and brown. Apparently it goes up easy; as the actress said to the Bishop.

Don't know about wallpaper, but about 1977 when we used to go to Scarborough, Skegness etc there was a Lambretta, and all the bodywork was fully covered in newspaper cuttings from .... The Sun page 3 girls.... I'm sure that was clear coated over the newspaper.

The clear coat would work but you will need plenty of coats id you want to be able to flat it down and 'loose' the edge. BUT your problem is going to be that the sunlight will make the ink in the wall paper fade. If you are serious about it you would be better off giving the paper to someone that makes spray masks and getting it sprayed on.

Google hydro dipping
Hydro dippers will make up any pattern you want.
I like the idea of wood chip and emulsion, in 1970's beige and brown.

look

You would struggle to get one off patterns for dipping. Its madeby manufactures not the places that do the dipping. Mostvare in the middle east lots of new ones coming out all the time but not custom ones. Like zomeone said get a wrap done...... Job done. :D
