Hi Temp BBQ spray on paint seems to work fine
Scootering since 1968.
Used this on mine http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/paint/spec ... d=11608324 lasted a lot longer than the "proper" exhaust paint & cheaper
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.
:bigsm: think about it,why is it .....bbqs get very very hot ,therefore the paint is designed to withstand such temperatures....like a hot exhaust which is probably not as hot as a bbq anyway = ideal ,and cheaper. seeeeeeemples .
unless you'd rather pay more just because it says exhaust paint on the can of essentially probably the same stuff.

The price on ceramic coating is starting to come down now that more people know about it and are having it done.
I had my origional box and headder coated and it looks great going on 6 years with no signs of flaking, chipping or discoloring.
It was done by JetHot coatings out of Phoenix AZ and cost about $80

What's the address I might drop in when I'm passing to save on the shipping charges! :wtf:Grumpy225 wrote: The price on ceramic coating is starting to come down now that more people know about it and are having it done.

even barbecue paint & fire grate paint both done by plastikote do burn off on the header section of the pipe virtually strainght away, I've found they are not as resilient as powdercoat.
My expansion chamber costs me a tenner to get coated and i'll get all year riding out of it for 2 years at stretch, so works out cheaper than plastikote and the effort of sanding and cleaning the pipe.
