What are the benefits of having a thumb choke fitted?

It's to richen the mixture on the fly to prevent seizures etc- it lowers the CHT.

ive got one of the darrell taylor ones being fitted to my winter model resto look nice too , just have to work out a way of keeping it on when starting from cold im stil trying to work out if its possible to have a dual choke sytem using original choke lever for starting an thumb choke for emergency engine temp control might pop in to chris at CS engineering in norwich as hes a talented chap with that sort of thing

Easy and quick access to extra fuel, which can help cool your engine during any times where heat maybe a problem.
