25mm Dellorto Float melt

So yesterday had a quick errand to run and figured I'd use my trusty
old Silver special casa kitted 185 Dellorto 25mm. Kicked it in life...
died straight away....? Kicked again died.... wouldn't hold a tick over,
figured it was a blocked pilot jet or fuel tap issue ....took carb off and
viola .....carb float full of gas :( this is a new carb about 500 miles on
this set up ............Also had it happen to a kitted SX200 with a 30mm
dellorto........? Anyone else having these problems with these floats ??
If so how are you sealing them ? what glue to prevent the ethanol melting
the existing factory glue ? I need to pull all my new carbs and glue them .
Any insights would be most welcome ....... 8-) G.

Yes I've had the same on a couple of PHBH floats - I now carry a spare

Yes, i had a 30mm Delorto on my Avanti kit and have to date (in 2 .5 years) got through 3 new floats because of the same problem. Thing is on the Isle of Wight in August i climbed a steep road and the bike was flooding and trying to cut out, so i believe the float may have melted again. Not sure what the answer is, as it seems to keep doing this. I have an old 80s float from a 30mm carb used back then so may try this....

you can get the black solid float for the PHBH this should solve your problems with ethanol
