Ok, a quick update.
Just had forks out again and with the wheel sat in the forks without the nuts, the wheel is nice and square in the forks.
As soon as i start to tighten the nuts it pulls the wheel to one side making ot off centre.

Sounds like something similar to what I had some years ago (coincidently picked up during an MOT).

My problem was that the fork spring rod was bent on one side. Fair do's to the guy doing the MOT, he took the wheel, link, spring & rod out, straightened the rod put it all back together, wheel ok, passed MOT charged an extra tenner job done :D

Took wheel and fork to Rayspeed for them to have a look.
He spotted that one of the fork links looked 'out'
So, after a bit of tweaking it's all back together. MOT re-test on saturday.

Fingers crossed!!

Cheers.

Have you made sure your fork stem isn't bent?

No mate.
It looks ok, no obvious damage/bends and it look exactly the same as another pair i had loafing about.
is their a specific means to check for a bend other than a good eyeballing?

Cheers.

Mine didn't look bent until we put a 2inch tube over the stem so it sat flush where the bottom race goes and looked down the tube and fork stem should be in the middle it wasn't. Maybe worth checking if forks are out the machine still

you can of course sight down the stem much in the same way you would check a guitar neck for twist just bare in mind lammy fork stems get thinner in the middle

the twist in the links is one of the reasons for bolting the two links together .. this would have made this apparent
