Rotax 300 builld
Looking Good
Got the radiator sorted out, mounted and ready to go. Fan works great and will wire in using the stock thermostatic switch to prevent it from running needlessly.

Welded a couple of tabs on the leggies that accept a one-off aluminum bracket, top and bottom...

Also cut a pair of vents in the legshield under the mudguard so as to not upset too much of the original aesthetic. These will get covered in some sort of perforated metal when it's all said and done.

Next up is to mount the clocks, switch, etc. and perhaps fab up the exhaust...

It's in the cards but before I went making the legshields flimsy with a massive hole, I figured I'd try two smaller ones first. The frame tube blocks most of what would be gained from opening it up and the fan pulls gobs of air through the smaller holes as it is.
The rad is off a Kawasaki street bike.

Well, i would cut the hole bigger and weld on a bar across the legshield instead of the single hooks on each side - this should stiffen it up again.RManson wrote: It's in the cards but before I went making the legshields flimsy with a massive hole, I figured I'd try two smaller ones first. I could take a picture of mine if you wish, hopefully there´s isn´t too much snow in front of my garage to get in there.
I don´t think the round frame tube will restrict it the air flow very much, it will go around it.

I made mine with a fecking huge hole there. The good thing about the frame tube it that it cops all the shite thrown up off the front wheel so there's not really any need to add a grille either. With a Husquvarna rad it cools fine without need for a fan, even in the summer.
Anther rule of thumb is to pick a rad not from something with the same CC as your engine, but with the same sort of power output - so anything in the 40hp region should be good for yours.
