Rebuilding my Li 125 engine, top end will be casa 185, question is gearing, change front sprocket? Or change complete box (got an Indian go 200 box) scooter will be ridden one up, round town. Cheers chaps

I'm using a Vijai Super gearbox with 47x18 sprockets with my Casa 185,the first three gears are exactly the same as the Indian GP200,the 4th gear is slightly higher,it pulls all four gears without a problem.

Ok, I'm currently using a casa kit on my gp with a mk2 super vijai! Goes alright. I think I might increase the front sprocket on the Li from 15 to 16 which gives a ratio of 5.3, according to the table in stickeys book 5.3 is good for a 175 with a clubman, there's no casa 185 in the list, but I'm guessing that's close.

A GP150 has a gear cluster with 19 teeth and a loose gear with 35 teeth,an SX200,which is what the forth gear is on a mk2,is 22 and 32 respectively. If you have 15x46 sprockets now going to a front sprocket of 16 teeth will make your final drive ratio too high.

Sorry Paul, im not making this clear! Im rebuilding a Li 125 engine, it will have a casa 185 when its done. This is the engine in question. When I stripped it it was 46/15 which gives a ratio of 5.65, if I've got it right, changing the front sprocket to 16 changes it to 5.3.
(I am using a gp with a casa and a super vijai mk2 atm )
