S3 chrome ring removal

Ive hammered a top bearing race out of an indian gp before using a long piece of metal bar, but how can you get a chrome ring out without wrecking it? Seen that youtube vid with the blind bearing puller? Might try that, seen one (puller) on fleabay for 20 quid....ish

Do that. I've done 3 that way. And the bearing puller works on a few other unexpected things too.

Tape up the end of a bit of tube or put a cork in it and knock it out from inside

You can remove them like that but the method listed in stickys book is a lot more affective, espically on ones that have never been removed before.
