Decided I feel the need to do a full resto.....it's an itch I can't scratch.
Bought a S2 to get stuck into. Photos to follow.
Loads of questions already. Can't get it running at the moment as its revving its tits off. (Checked head for leaks etc and can't find anything) only seems to run with the choke on and like I said its running very fast. Crank oil seal I think will be my next port of call.
Don't want to spend to much getting it running as I intend to 185, 12v, 42 big bore bigger carb like my SX as I'm more than happy with the way that runs.
Will a GP air scoop fit and is it really needed?
How difficult is the crank oil seal to change?
I really want to get it running, motd, and registered before I start the rebuild as I here my local DVLA office could be closing.
Do I need a different AF clubman to fit a S2 or are they all the same?
Also are all the toolbox doors the same fit as I need one of those as its got a late API one fitted.

scoop will fit ,clubman will fit ,series 1/2 doors have a raised lock area if that helps

What special tools do I need for the seal? Got lots of tools but only a hub puller specific for a Bretta at the moment.

Flywheel puller, flywheel holder, conrod holder, crank pulling sleeve, crank removal tool, clutch holder, clutch compressor all spring to mind. Number one tool is Sticky's book though.clyde wrote:Got lots of tools but only a hub puller specific for a Bretta at the moment.

You might want to check if a gp scoop will fit if single seats are used
