I'm about to leave one for powder coating...

Can't you plug the exhaust in some way to avoid the carbon to spill out...?

I have used Fertan on my PX.
Especially the exhaust which I wire brushed, fertaned and then Black Engine Enamel.

Fertan comes with good recommendations so we will see.

Got to say in the end the rusct converter thing was a bit of a disappointment. It certainly reacts quickly and looks impressive. But it didn't stop the rust. You could run your hand over it and it's as rusty as it ever was. Bottom line is I don't think there is any substitute for blasting it back to the bare metal and properly treating it.
