There was some for sale on the Vespa Sports Yahoo Group recently (~$250), Scooters Originali had some too for around the $500 range. Can't the one's on the SS be restored? If you don't have the skills I think Bulletproof was restoring these recently (ask on the Yahoo Group) or find someone locally that restores vintage car trim.
I'll happily take the damaged/bent ones off your hands if you want

That sounds great - I'm in S London, did you do it by yourself or did you source anyone who did it for you?vesbrettas wrote:give me a shout i restored the ones for my rally the may not come out 100% but they will be as close as any second hand set you can get if you can get them and im in s london

This is the amazing result of Dave's bodywork and spraying:

I am extremely happy so far with the work carried out by Dave. Not only did he manage to rescue the floorboards - all other repairs are carried out professionally with replacing the "infected" metal rather than filling out the damages with filler.
Also, he reinforced the floor struts while repairing them and also pre-sprayed the bottom of the scooter with a protective anticorrosion coating before spraying the final paint.
The paint b t w is direct gloss, i.e. it's not lacquered/clearcoated, all to make it look more as they did back in the days.

Finally some progress!
Unfortunately half the parts ordered about 2 weeks ago still haven't arrived, so there is only so much I can currently do...
Scootercenter Köln shipped immediately, and after having called Scootopia and asked them where they were with the order they let me pay and quickly shipped the parts.
The parts from SIP and Allstyles still haven't arrived, and neither company seemed very interesting in having more orders coming in
Ok, the photos:

I had to get the piston out and realised liquid gasket isn't a good solution for a cylinder...

Sorry for asking, but does anyone have a standard, seized, PX piston lying around?
I'm doing the big bore 208cc conversion on my engine since the cylinder was seized beyond repair (OD) a few years ago and it was drilled out to fit a PX piston (66.4mm I believe).
I'm going to modify the PX piston with some aluwelding and would need donator tissue (material)
Cheers Victor
