Thought I should post a thread here containing some images from the restoration of my old Vespa SS.

This was the first scooter I bought when I was 20-21, back in the year 2000.

At that time, I only rode motorbikes, but having spotted the advertisement and taken her for a test ride, I was seriously hooked.

Over the coming months my motorcycle remained parked in the garden, and shortly I sold it making this baby my only ride.

She looked quite tatty to be honest, someone had painted her light blue with what I believe to be Swedish, 1950's, kitchen paint.

The emblems were painted orange and the seat was covered in denim (an old pair of jeans).

I fixed the most important things such as sanding down and painting rims and shocks, covering the bottom of the scooter and inside of fenders with anti corrosion paint, bought a new saddle and changed handlebar grips and all used bit, as well as restored the engine.

I ran the scooter like that for years, together with other that I accumulated, but now time has come to restore it. Not only was it needed due to the quality (or lack of quality) of the paint but more importantly since it had some severe corrosion which I wanted to properly access.

Anyway, enough talking, I know what you are thinking now is "show me the scooter!" so here she is:

Just a heads up that Flop Customs have remade the SS/Rally louvers if your looking at restoring that engine side cowl:

Thanks for that tip Vegansydney. Fortunately I got hold of a few a couple of years ago which are now welded in :)
