Restore?...or leave alone?

Post pics & videos of your scooter, projects you're working on, a lovely Vespa that you saw at a rally, or anything else scooter related.

Leave alone gets my vote. Or do something radical.

take some pics first.
sandblast them, use much filler as possible, add a flip-flop paint, get a billet kickstart,
drop bar (30°), pimp your engine with a tungsten-balanced one-off crank for 750.- and a welded up 72mm ceramic bore etc...
after 1 year take a look at the old pics and start crying...

Keep the SX 200 original its nice to see them in yellow makes a nice change. Just get it running right and leave well alone. As for the 150 turn it into an SX based street racer, then i can get some Inspiration from your hard works. :frog:

With the way things are going and the costs involved in creating a good street racer you would end up selling the 200 to finance the project on the 150 anyway.

So better off keep them both standard and reliable.

I would say, a good strip and rebuild replacing anything worn or damaged that may cause nuisance or reliability issues.......

Personally I just think that it's such a shame restore scooters that have obviously been cherished by someone for so long to have stayed in such good and original condition...

Otherwise, surely something solid but not in quite as good cosmetic condition could have been sought in the first place for restoration & paying less money ?

+ Ultimately their value as well conserved originals would always be higher than that of the used restorations that they would otherwise be destined to become...

Overhaul the motors and cables etc but the bodywork should be left alone IMO as it is rare to get good unmolested models like this ;)
