Yes, you're right Ian. I had forgotten about that. I had vague ideas about swapping the restricted box for a S3, but then of course you'd have to change the elbow and by then you are beginning to lose the 2'ness of it.

I know the early S2's had the air box with the wider neck to allow more air to pass, but isn't it basically a S3 air box then? Or is there a subtle difference in diameters that I'm missing?

Yes, that's exactly the sort of thing I want. I've taken a pair of fork links into the chromers today and we talked about it. The one is in its original finish, while the other is nice and shiny. Well, I must admit I thought the same, but it's just difficult to tell sometimes. The chroming they do nowadays is probably much too bright and shiny and what I take to be original does look dull and rough by comparison. That of course may be due to the surface on which it was applied instead of bei...

I did wonder. I experimented with a bit of Nitromors on the scoop and sure enough it's TV blue under the emulsion.
